Chili Lantern is a warm little kitchen with a bowl of noodles steaming on the counter, a glossy red chili and a ripe tomato ready for the pot. The glow of the lantern makes everything feel like the start of a good dinner.
Pep is the fearless taster. Pep tries everything at least once, rings the mildness bell when a bowl is too hot and then reaches for the water with a grin. Nobody knows exactly what the bell means, but everyone ends up having another sip.
