The little story

Firefly Watch

Firefly Watch is a woodland observation hut with a lantern in the window, little glass jars lined up on a shelf and a sky that is just starting to blink. It is the kind of place you find after dark and stay a while.

Glim is the night-light keeper. Glim keeps the lanterns trimmed, writes down what the fireflies are up to and says hello to anyone who comes up the path. Ask for news and you will get a very short, very friendly report.

It is a warm, quiet page for saying who you are when the day has slowed down. Pull up a stool, take a jar and watch what the evening brings.
